    As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks an Executive Director of the Latino Leadership Initiative to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by systematically forming strategic community partnerships, create intercultural engagement, recruit students, and promote Latin student success.

    The Latino Leadership Initiative (LLI) seeks to raise educational achievement among Latinos by infusing our schools with transformational mentors, building a network of support, providing radical access to and comprehensive support during higher education, and expanding resources necessary to accomplish these ambitious goals.

    The ideal candidate will have an extensive network within the Latino community, be an innovative leader who is highly collaborative, and have demonstrated the ability to be an agent of change.

    [b]Essential Duties and Responsibilities:[/b]

    [*]Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
    [*]Create strategic partnerships with local, state, and national organizations to promote the success of the LLI strategic plan.
    [*]Engage campus departments and offices to facilitate and integrate the goals of the LLI strategic plan throughout campus.
    [*]Foster a university culture of intercultural engagement with and celebration of the many cultures of U.S. Latinos and Latin America.
    [*]Promote comprehensive student engagement, retention, and success programing in collaboration with key partners by implementing evidence-based practices and policies to support Latino student success.
    [*]Develop and implement recruitment strategies for prospective Latino students in partnership with high schools that have a high concentration of Latin@ students.
    [*]Achieve development goals that will provide the resources to carry out the LLI strategic plan including funding for endowed student scholarships and program sustainability.
    [*]Collaborate/coordinate, as needed, with Marian University offices, academic departments, clubs, faculty, athletics when supporting students and visitors from the Hispanic and Latino communities.
    [*]Other duties may be assigned.

    This position requires that the individual be able to effectively communicate in Spanish with students, family members, colleagues, and university stakeholders. Translating spoken and written Spanish into English and vice versa is needed.
