Under the direction of the Dean, the Assistant Dean assists in the general administration of all academic aspects within the college. The Assistant Dean supervises and evaluates office staff and directs work operations; advises and educates faculty and staff on matters of University policy (academic, student affairs, administrative, etc.); assists in the supervision of program administration performed by school executive directors and other unit directors; assists with marketing and public relations for the college and its programs; and does related work as required. In the absence of the Dean and/or Associate Dean, the Assistant Dean assumes the role of chief academic officer of the college. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications: Master’s degree and a minimum of four years of professional experience in academic administration in a higher education environment or the equivalent as determined by the university is required. Candidate must have experience with advisement. Experience with College of Liberal Arts curriculum is highly desirable.
