Essential Job Functions

• 5-7 years of progressive experience in small business consulting, economic development, entrepreneurship, or related field
• At least 3 years of management or supervisory experience leading teams and programs
• Demonstrated expertise in business planning, financial analysis, marketing strategy, and operations management
• Proven track record of successfully managing grants and multi-source budgets
• Experience working with diverse small business populations including startups, microenterprises, and established businesses
• Strong knowledge of SBA programs, small business regulations, and economic development principles
• Experience in program development, training facilitation, and workshop delivery
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate complex business concepts to varied audiences
• Proficiency with business planning software, financial modeling tools, and client management systems
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative partnerships with external stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills with experience in outcomes measurement and performance reporting
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to identify opportunities and drive innovation
• Commitment to supporting underserved communities and promoting inclusive economic development
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the service region
• Experience in higher education or university-based economic development programs preferred
