    Auburn Advancement is excited to begin the search for a Director of Development (Central Philanthropy) to join our philanthropy team! The Director of Development (Central Philanthropy) will play a critical leadership role, both independently and collaboratively, in cultivating relationships with donors capable of making major and principal gifts.

    This position strategically leverages the vision and influence of university leadership to secure support for key university priorities, as well as for various colleges and units across campus. The Director provides direction and vision for a team of fundraisers, including multiple regional gift officers and specialized officers supporting units such as the Auburn University Ralph Brown Draughon Library and the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art at Auburn University.

    This individual is responsible for implementing a comprehensive portfolio of fundraising initiatives focused primarily on securing major and principal gifts. This role partners closely with fundraising colleagues, academic leaders, faculty, and volunteers to advance the university’s philanthropic objectives.


    What You’ll Do:


    • Lead with Vision: Manage and motivate a team of talented fundraisers to achieve ambitious fundraising goals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

    • Engage and Inspire: Work with prospects, donors, corporations, foundations, faculty, and high-level administrators to secure funding and support for Auburn University.

    • Drive Impactful Fundraising: Maintain comprehensive and consistent records, regularly auditing data for accuracy and integrity to support reporting and compliance requirements.

    • Champion Philanthropy: Build meaningful relationships with philanthropic donors, securing transformative gifts, and inspiring a culture of giving that directly supports Auburn Advancement and Auburn University’s mission and growth.
