    The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) invites applications forthe role of Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Teaching, Learning and Technology. This is an exceptional opportunity for a visionary and dynamic leader to become part of the executive team at a prestigious institution dedicated to academic excellence and innovation. S/he will be instumental in advancing the University’s mission to deliver outstanding technology-enhanced teaching and learning experiences.


    Qualifications and Experience Required



    • A relevant doctorate (NQF Level 10) with a distinguished record of academic achievement and recognition excellence.

    • An established academic standing as an Associate Professor / Professor will be an advantage.

    • At least ten (10) years of experience in higher education, including a minimum of five (5) years in a senior management position.

    • A strong and proven track record in teaching, research, curriculum development, and community engagement.

    • A collaborative leadership style that fosters collegiality, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.

    • Proven ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including industry partners and government entities.

    • Proven ability to lead institutional change and adapt to emerging digital technologies, including artificial intelligence.

    • Demonstrated commitment to academic excellence, student success, and inclusive, technology-driven pedagogy.


    Key Responsibilities



    • Provide strategic leadership and educational oversight in the areas of teaching, learning, and technology.

    • Oversee the effective administration and coordination of Faculties, Academic Development and Support units, and Satellite Campuses.

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic and regulatory framework to achieve the teaching and learning objectives outlined in the NUST Strategic Plan.

    • Lead academic governance and drive innovation in teaching methodologies, curriculum design, and learning enhancement initiatives.

    • Oversee the integration of innovative educational technologies and eLearning strategies, ensuring alignment with the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) imperatives and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

    • Lead the accreditation processes for academic programmes, ensuring adherence to national and international standards.

    • Drive the academic strategic plan, by strengthening library and information services, supporting the continuous professional development of academic staff.

    • Foster cross-functional collaboration to enhance institutional coherence, communication, and alignment with strategic objectives.

    • Serve as Chair for relevant sub-committees of Council and Senate, contributing to effective governance and academic excellence.


    Presentation Requirement
    Shortlisted candidates will be invited to deliver a public presentation, thereby providing a platform to demonstrate their vision, readiness, and suitability for the esteemed role of Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Teaching, Learning and Technology.


    Terms of Employment
    Term of Office: A five (5)-year performance based contract.
