UBC’s Okanagan campus is looking for its next Associate Vice President (AVP) Students. With a mandate to shape and develop an integrated student services model to meet the evolving needs and diversity of the student population, the AVP, Students will champion effective collaboration, evidence-based research, practices and programs, and strategic partnerships. The AVP, Students will assist in creating respectful and welcoming campus cultures that promote the academic achievement and personal development of all students. In addition, the AVP, Students will advocate on behalf of students and foster collaborative relationships amongst the entirety of the UBC-Okanagan campus community.
As the ideal candidate, you are a visionary leader who will engage in supporting a vibrant and future-oriented student services department. You are a seasoned facilitator, who uses a collaborative approach in the development of student affairs policies, programs and strategic plans, and ensures the department embodies the Institution’s core values in their implementation. With experience overseeing a complex and diverse portfolio, catering to a similarly diverse and complex student body, the AVP, Students is committed to supporting student success and well-being both on and off campus. You are well suited for and experienced in leading large teams with relationship skills that allow you to work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders and the community. The ideal candidate is accomplished both academically and professionally and is resilient, adaptable and outcomes oriented.
Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Okanagan Campus, and the Vice-President Students, the AVP, Students will cultivate and coordinate institutional structures and programs to ensure the UBC Okanagan campus achieves an exceptional student experience where all students realize their full potential and contribute to a civil and sustainable society.
