Under the supervision of the Executive Director of the Holmes Student Center, this position provides vision and oversight for high quality conference and event services production in the Holmes Student Center. This position supervises the areas of Reservations and Event Management, Production and Technology Services, and Marketing and Promotions in the Holmes Student Center. The position coordinates with the Division of Information Technology, Campus Dining Service Catering and Retail Dining Services to ensure event success.
Duties and Responsibilities (generally)
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate professional staff in the areas of Reservations and Event Management, Production and Technology Services, and Marketing and Promotions. Responsible for oversight of Reservations and Event Management team focused on event coordination and production within the Holmes Student Center including but not limited to, ensuring customer satisfaction, space reservations, contract management, collaboration with services and vendors, software management. Ensure success of operations and activities of Production and Technology Services team (PTS). In coordination with reporting staff and various campus departments actively work to increase facility usage by student and campus users through marketing and promotions. Assist with the review, development and implementation of Holmes Student Center policies and procedures. Liaison with the Division of Information Technology and Campus Dining Services. Act in the place of the Holmes Student Center Executive Director as needed.
Minimum Required Qualifications for this position
1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience working in a university union, coordinating audio visual and comprehensive event production.
3. Two (2) years (24 months) experience working in a university union, coordinating audio visual and comprehensive event production.
4. Demonstrated experience in the areas of programming, advising, budget management, and training programs.
