Kean University is seeking a Director of Operations for its Kean Skylands campus location. Kean Skylands sits on 40 acres of protected land in Jefferson Township, New Jersey. Conveniently located near three county colleges, Kean Skylands is committed to helping area residents make a smooth transition toward earning their bachelor’s degrees.  The campus is like no other in New Jersey. The University renovated a 30,000-square-foot former abbey to serve as the campus’ main building. The Lodge now includes nine classrooms, a gym, 24 residential rooms and flexible space for events.

Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, the Director (Director 2) organizes, plans and directs development, funding and campus operations of Kean Skylands. The Director is responsible for the integration of related academic programs, research, operations (facilities and grounds), financial management, student affairs and community programming between the Skylands location and Kean’s Union campus. The Director responds to emergency, physical and/or weather-related events. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and four years of significant professional experience in management and administration is required. A Master’s degree and project management experience is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.

Candidacy review begins immediately and continues until appointment is made.  Please submit your cover letter, resume/CV and contact information for three professional references. Official transcripts are required prior to the starting date of employment.

Attention current Kean University employees (including part-time Student Assistants, Graduate Assistants, Academic Specialists and Adjuncts): Please apply via the internal career site to ensure consideration as an internal candidate.
