Director of Integrated Marketing - Institutional Advancement

UVU's Institutional Advancement is looking for aDirector of Integrated Marketing to manage a comprehensive communications program, incorporating a wide variety of communications media, including written, visual, digital, social, and electronic, and associated technical applications.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist the Associate Vice President for Strategic Engagement in executing the communications strategy that will endeavor to increase UVU's visibility for donor and alumni audiences.
  • Maintain alignment with central UVU strategic communications priorities.
  • Will be knowledgeable of and provide guidance in accordance with the university style guide, best practices, and marketing trends.
  • Demonstrate exceptional care in leadership by actively working to develop their own skills as well as those of IA writers, editors, website developers, and digital content creators.

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelors degree, plus one year of marketing/design experience; OR a combination of relevant education and experience totaling five years.

  • Excellent writing and language skills. In-depth knowledge of, and experience with, websites and social media platforms and best practices.
  • Ability to provide social media content, including conducting interviews, finding and writing stories and articles, choosing photos, videos, graphs, etc.
  • Experience in education development and alumni relations related to fundraising, donor relations, events, and community involvement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community, including the university president, senior-level administrators, and active or potential high level donors.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team, as well as independently, and to be proactive in seeking solutions to challenges or opportunities.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in order to complete rapid turn-around of communications pieces and successfully meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft PowerPoint, as well as effective Internet research skills, knowledge of design concepts and/or design software (Adobe Photoshop, In-Design, Illustrator).
  • Working knowledge of photography is also an asset.
  • Sound understanding, and proficient use of, Microsoft Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Working knowledge of photography, web, and social media platforms preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrate interpersonal, team oriented, and decision-making skills where creativity and latitude is required.
  • Ability to resolve problems by thinking logically and identifying potential solutions.
  • Ability to follow directions and work under supervision.
  • Ability to keep current with industry standards and trends.
  • Ability to adhere to university style guides, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced and diverse workplace environment with rapidly shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively manage his/her own time to complete tasks on schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree with three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience totaling seven years. Prefer degree in English, journalism, marketing, or communications.

Physical Requirements:
Physical ability to perform manual work.

Pay Range: $59,571 - $74,464
