The Opportunity: The University of Tulsa (TU) seeks a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader for Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Provost is the chief academic officer of The University of Tulsa and, in collaboration with the President, the Board of Trustees, the Deans, the faculty, students, and staff, the Provost’s primary responsibility is to advance the University’s mission: We are a student-centered research university that cultivates interconnected learning experiences to explore complex ideas and create new knowledge in a spirit of free inquiry. Guided by our commitment to diversity, equity, and service, we prepare individuals to make meaningful contributions to our campus, our community, and our world. The Provost also plays a key leadership role in fostering academic excellence and integrity and prioritizing and allocating budgetary resources. The Provost serves to lead the faculty including as an advocate, facilitator of institutional improvement, transformer of the academic components of the University for a rapidly changing world economy, and as a researcher and educator regarding future trends affecting the University. The Provost must be a visionary academic leader and experienced administrator who can thrive in a highly diverse and dynamic environment and who shares and reinforces the University’s commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and engaged scholarship.
