Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is currently recruiting for a Director of Philanthropy Organizations. Reporting to the Senior Director of Special Initiatives for the Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement team, the Director of Philanthropy Organizations manages a diverse array of affinity-based philanthropy organizations aimed at increasing engagement with prospective donors, widening the Eagle network, and attracting substantial annual gift income for scholarships and student or faculty projects.
The Director will work closely with the Dean of each College and other members of the philanthropy and alumni relations team to identify, recruit, engage, solicit, and steward qualified candidates for college-based philanthropy councils. The Director will develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy in collaboration with colleagues in the philanthropy and alumni communications unit and the colleges, publishing monthly content to members of each council and sharing the impact of their contributions. The Director will coordinate or organize campus meetings and special events for the councils, engaging them with their college’s scholarship students, faculty, and leadership.
The Director shall also establish, coordinate or direct other philanthropic organizations, potentially including societies for master pilots and master mechanics respectively, a university-level council, and philanthropic activities of a parents’ organization. The Director will personally engage individuals to cultivate, solicit, and steward members of these organizations and/or may assist colleagues in engaging them. Collaborate with colleagues in alumni engagement to provide supplemental engagement of high-net-worth alumni volunteers and especially network leaders. Implement a town-gown donor acquisition program. May provide consultation to other team personnel and campus partners who are themselves coordinating their own approved philanthropic organizations.

This is a full-time, exempt position.
3 years of advancement experience in higher education.
Professional experience in membership organizations and/or in the fields of volunteer management, persuasive writing, graphic design, and/or events management
Proper business correspondence
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Basic understanding of HTML and web editor’s tools
Proficiency with event planning software; Attend.
