Reporting to the Director of Residential Operations and Facilities, the Managing Assistant Director (Managing Assistant Director III) for Residential Facilities is responsible for managing the residence halls’ maintenance and renovations and ensures the department is in compliance with all federal, state and local environmental, health and safety codes. The Managing Assistant Director acts as a liaison to other university offices and support services in matters involving both daily and long-term management, as well as care and upkeep of the residence hall facilities and performs other related duties. The Managing Assistant Director of Facilities manages the daily activities of and is responsible for staff workflow, training, documentation, inventory, purchasing and vendor/contractor relations, including contract management.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college; two years of professional experience in facilities management with knowledge and understanding of building systems, utilities, construction, maintenance and operations; and a driver’s license valid in New Jersey is required. Four years of experience in facilities management in higher education and with administrative processes is preferred. Candidate must possess strong organizational skills and show a demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively in a culturally diverse community. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
