The School of Management at the University at Buffalo seeks an Assistant Dean and Director of the Career Resource Center. This position leads the Career Resource Center ( CRC) both strategically and operationally. Responsibilities include:
- Manage strategic planning relating to graduate and undergraduate level recruitment, career development for students and alumni, as well as internships and experiential learning for the school. Formulate optimal mix of career and professional development curriculum, programs, resources, events and coaching to best prepare students for career success, engaging business partners and alumni throughout this process. Ensure operations are supported by effective communication and technology platforms, as well as strong diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility practices.
- Promote the CRC, the school and the students to employers and business partners locally, nationally and internationally. Develop and sustain strong recruiting relationships through responsive employer relations.
- Manage CRC personnel, including allocation of responsibilities, staff development and performance reviews.
- Contribute to school-wide performance as part of senior leadership, addressing strategic priorities for the school and university. Represent the CRC within the school, the university, and the community, including serving in professional associations, relevant committees and working groups.
- Keep current with relevant business school and career trends; benchmark and communicate with colleagues on and off campus.
- Manage career-related data collection and reporting (according to industry agreed upon standards) to external constituencies including: AACSB, Bloomberg Businessweek, US News and World Report and other organizations with a focus on the impact of the CRC’s activities on the ranking of the school.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with alumni, faculty and staff, supporting the mission of the CRC, school and university. Provide career development expertise, presentations and support as needed.
- Maintain strategic relationships with the staff of various university offices, including the Career Design Center.
- Develop annual budget and ensure all activities and events are executed within yearly budget.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Five years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated success in strategic management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.
- Strong leadership skills and proven ability to manage a staff.

- Master’s degree or other advanced degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
- Understanding and appreciation of the mission, values, organization, and culture of a public university.
