Bryant University seeks a Director of Content Strategy to join the growing University Marketing and Communication team.
Reporting to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer (CMCO) the Director of Content Strategy is responsible for leading and implementing communications initiatives that create compelling messages and storylines that articulate Bryant’s values, distinctive degree, and certificate programs, and bold vision set forth within its Vision 2030 strategic plan. The Director of Content Strategy develops content to be shared across all the University channels with a particular emphasis on digital media. This position partners closely with the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications and senior leaders including VP of Advancement, Provost, Dean of Students, as well as other key University leaders to advance Bryant’s strategic goals.

Play a key role in the development of content delivery (traditional and digital platforms), including podcasts, web pages, e-newsletters, social media campaigns, publications, collateral, and multimedia. Ensures that content and ideas clearly articulate Bryant’s Vision 2030 strategic plan and long-term vision.
Work closely with Bryant’s advancement and creative teams to create and implement effective content strategies that attract and engage prospective donors and corporate/foundation partners.
Responsible for creating a content strategy to meet the enrollment and business objectives of the Institution, including but not limited to defining the content strategy plan and how its successful implementation will be measured; developing, aligning, and implementing strategic messaging to meet audience needs; and ensuring consistency in branding and graphic identity.
Responsible for content planning and generation that advance Bryant’s strategic goals, with an emphasis on supporting initiatives established by the University, the President’s Office, Provost’s Office, Alumni Affairs, and Development.
Play a key role in the development of new content vehicles. Creates, maintains, and implements messaging platforms for specific programs and their audiences as needed, in collaboration with UMC senior leadership and relevant stakeholders across the Institution.
Edit Vision 2030 content written by the development team or submitted by campus partners for publication online/in print. Writes priority and confidential editorial content as requested. Serves as the content editor for the University’s Vision 2030 website and news site’s digital presence.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field, graduate degree preferred, as well as 7 years of proven experience in marketing communications management, content strategy, writing, and digital/print publishing. Demonstrated success in development and execution of content strategy plans and programs that leverage a range of media and variety of channels including owned, earned, and paid is required as is extensive knowledge and proven experience with digital media channels, including SEO, social integration, tools, and metrics. The candidate will possess exceptional message development and storytelling ability; proven and extensive writing and editing skills along with excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment. They will have the ability to work efficiently, creatively, and meet deadlines. The individual will bring a demonstrated ability to make decisions and exercise sound judgment in a business-like manner and exercise diplomacy and tact. The ideal candidate will be able to handle complexities with resilience, resourcefulness, and optimism; and appreciate open mindedness, creativity, and agility in thought and tactics. They will embraces ideas and changes created by all community members and demonstrate flexibility in changing conditions. Requires the ability to handle multiple projects with frequent deadlines in a fast-paced agile marketing management environment along with the ability to take thoughtful risks and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results. Excellent organization and project management skills is a must.
