This pivotal position acts as the Senior Fiscal Officer for the College of Engineering and reports to and works as a strategic financial and human resource (HR) partner to the Dean. The primary purpose of the is to preserve and enhance COE’s assets and enable the College to achieve our vision, implement our mission, and promote our values.
In conjunction with the Dean, this position oversees the financial, accounting, and human resources operations of the college and all fiscal services including: financial systems, reporting and controls, as well as managing and communicating fiscal and HR policies and regulations. This position is also responsible for participating in the college’s strategic planning process with the Dean and senior leaders on complex fiscal matters and forecasting, HR matters and forecasting, and policies pertaining to each. The Director will be encouraged to investigate and modify fiscal and HR related workflows to find operational and organizational processes that are strategic, efficient, and effective. The position requires both consistency and flexibility in the management and reporting process.
Further, this position provides guidance to the constituents of the College on fiscal and HR matters, implements policies and practices to assure the continued long-term financial strength and sound fiscal management of the college, and proactively identifies creative and fiscally sound methods for funding and staffing college operations and projects. This position is a key member of the college’s leadership team.
