Director of Concurrent Enrollment

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time


Under the direction of the Senior Director of Extended Education, the Director of Concurrent Enrollment provides strategic leadership in all aspects of the Concurrent Enrollment program. The director will lead their team in providing exceptional care and first-class opportunities for students by working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, such as high school partners including high school counselors, Enrollment Management, the Registrar's Office, Outreach, First Year Advising Center (FYAC), academic departments and faculty, UVU's CTE department, GEARUp, USHE, and workforce partners. In partnership with these stakeholders, the director analyzes and uses data to drive decisions and develops concurrent enrollment strategy to support the overall mission, goals, and objectives of the institution, the high school partners and USHE. The director collaborates with the UVU CTE team to support student pathways in CTE, general education and certificates of proficiency.

Strategic Vision and Leadership
In conjunction with the Sr. Director of Extended Education, uses data to create a strategic vision for concurrent enrollment that reflects and complements the mission and direction of UVU and high school partners, including increased advising participation and enrollment in CE classes, especially among low-enrolled schools and districts, low income and underrepresented minority students. Develops collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify current and future needs for concurrent enrollment, including CTE and academic pathways, and how those needs are best served. Partners with the CTE Director to identify and develop pathways for students into higher education. Leads, develops and manages performance of the CE team. Utilizes skills of team members to achieve goals and outcomes. As part of the COED leadership team, attends meetings and gives input into decisions. Assists department leadership and others with special projects, meetings, and additional duties as assigned.

Marketing and Communications Strategy
Collaborates with UVU Enrollment Management team to ensure communications to students are consistent with the UVU student experience. Ensures coordination of communication and outreach interventions with relevant partners. Under the guidance of the Sr. Director of Extended Education, the COED Marketing Director, and Student Affairs stakeholders, develops and leads the execution of a robust marketing and communications strategy that increases enrollment in CE, particularly in underserved populations. Uses data to inform and drive decisions on where to target marketing. Takes a proactive role in communicating key goals, strategies, expected outcomes and impact, to COED and UVU leadership, high school partners, including high school counselors, Student Affairs stakeholders and others. Regularly meets with key stakeholders to build relationships and identify needs and goals to design and implement programming to support student success and enrollment at UVU after high school.

Data and Impact Reporting
In conjunction with the CE Data Manager, analyzes data and provides regular data and impact reports as requested by COED and UVU leadership, USHE and other stakeholders. Proactively evaluates success in achieving desired outcomes detailed in strategic plan and adjusts where necessary.

Student Experience
Creates a best-in-class CE student experience with UVU by maintaining excellent and meaningful student communication and quality of instruction through close partnership with UVU supervising faculty to ensure HSCE teachers are upholding UVU class standards. Supervises CE advisors and ensures the CE advising model and philosophies are consistent with the First Year Advising Center. Develops a plan to increase the percentage of CE students who participate in advising interventions. Oversees professional development of UVU faculty and ensures NACEP accreditation standards are adhered to. Works in the spirit of continuous improvement and keeping up to date with high school students' needs and goals.

Process Evaluation
Ensure internal processes such as registration and appeals are evaluated to maintain relevancy and effectiveness and that they utilize technology appropriately. Ensures processes and procedures meet UVU and state requirements and are consistent with registrar's office. Makes recommendations for updates and improvements when needed. Follows changes in UVU procedures that impact CE students to ensure continued consistency. Ensures processes and procedures are not excessive or detrimental to the student experience.

Budget Management
Develops appropriate spending plan for the CE budget that supports the strategic vision of CE, in accordance with UVU's Budget Office and state rules. In conjunction with the CE Office Manager, oversees appropriate use of funds. Assesses and reports impact of spending plan on CE goals and expected outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree and 5-7 years work experience related to the summary of duties or a combination of education and work totaling 7 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in a normal office environment.

Pay Range: $63,151 - $78,939
