The College houses the following programs:
The Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS) is a unique residential program for high school-aged Texas students who are high achievers and interested in mathematics and science. While living on Campus in McConnell Hall, students in this two-year program complete a rigorous academic curriculum of college coursework at the University of North Texas (UNT). Instruction is by University Faculty. There are no high school courses taught, but students enjoy many of the activities of high school and the company of age mates who are intellectual peers.
The UNT Honors College is dedicated to enriching the undergraduate academic experience for the more than 1,900 students who choose to be members. Undergraduate students from all UNT majors are eligible. Honors students become part of a community of scholars, with access to Honors classes and a wide array of special programming.
The Office of Undergraduate Research and Nationally Competitive Scholarships assists undergraduate and graduate students in identifying and pursuing externally funded research and study opportunities.
The McNair Scholars Program is a highly competitive program funded by the U.S. Department of Education to prepare university juniors and seniors who are low-income, first generation, and/or underrepresented in graduate education for doctoral education.
The Assistant Director for Student Life provides oversight and planning for the development, implementation, and evaluation of student life programs, services, and activities in the Honors College
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 4 years relevant experience in student programming or services, student affairs, or other professionally related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
