Overview
This position will be working directly with the rest of CPE team on promoting and selling CPE courses while using marketing, sales and design software. The audience for those classes is local, nationwide, individuals and businesses.

Position Summary
Develop and implement a strong program plan to market internal and external online courses and other activities; Identify target audience; Sell programs to targeted audience to reach revenue goals. Program development; Creating new processes and procedures; Develop/submit project plans and proposals; Create robust customer network and database

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Development – 30%
Define target customers, products, and channels by conducting research, reading Google Analytics reports and email analysis
Create new processes and produce results that meet deadlines within budgets.
Use project planning tools as required and work as/with project manager when directed.
Research and develop marketing activities, using tools, selecting materials, creating media and other resources as needed.
Monitor regional and national CPE news, research and publications a to identify opportunities for new programs and partners.

Marketing Delivery – 30%
Help create and tell a compelling story, including phone scripts, pivot statements, PPT decks, value propositions, and website updates and more
Submit proposals and speak at conferences as approved.
Hours are flexible and may include nights and weekends at fairs, conferences meetings and other opportunities. Transportation is required and travel expenses will be reimbursed at state travel rates.
Create and support an effective marketing team to perform within timelines and within budgets.

Partnerships – 20%
Cultivate positive relationships with internal and external individuals and organizations, including developing and sustaining both new and existing partnerships.
Represent the P-20 Center, the division, and the University through speaking engagements, printed materials, conferences or other contacts with internal and external audiences related to CPE including business, industry and other clients.
Collaborate across OERD’s networks, integrating NIU STEAM activities into other networks, maximizing involvement of faculty, and increasing involvement of external partners.

Budget and Expenditures – 10%
Develop budgets and programming proposals,
Implement budget allocation and resources, facilities and travel requirements;

Evaluation – 10%
Establish key performance metrics, including but not limited to bounce rates, conversion rates, funnel goals and revenue goals.
Collect metrics and complete analyses as needed to determine effectiveness and target improvement
Complete reports on outcomes and others as needed or required

Minimum Required Qualifications (Civil Service)
CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER
1. Bachelor’s degree in a Marketing, Business or related field

2. A total of five (5) years (60 months) of work experience in marketing leadership.

Note: Master’s degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1 year) of work experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

1. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
2. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
3. Skill in analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
4. Skill in scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others.
5. Skill in oral and written communication.
6. Ability to adjust actions in relation to others’ actions.
7. Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
8. Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
9. Ability to develop specific goals, plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish tasks.
10. Ability to work effectively with staff, the public, and outside constituency groups.
11. Ability to effectively plan, delegate, and supervise the work of others.
12. Ability to utilize various computer software packages, such as accounting software, query, etc.
13. Ability to work independently and exercise judgment in order to be able to analyze and investigate a variety of questions or problems.
14. Ability to analyze and develop guidelines, procedures, and systems.
