F.D. Bluford Library at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NC A&T) invites applications for the position of Assistant Dean of Library Services. Reporting to the Dean of Library Services, the incumbent will lead a talented team of librarians and staff in converting aspirations for library services into reality. The Assistant Dean is responsible for strategic visioning, policy formulation, resource allocation, oversight of daily operations, personnel, marketing of services and programs, and excellence in departments that comprise: Access Services; Collections; Research, Instructional and Engagement Services; Systems; and Bibliographic, Metadata and Discovery Services.
As appropriate, the Assistant Dean represents the library on campus and at community activities and when asked by the Dean or in absence of the Dean. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in leadership, a dedication to service and the ability to foster collaboration among stakeholders.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Setting priorities, ensuring progress toward achieving goals, and driving continuous improvement in services.
- Providing leadership to the implementation of the library’s strategic plan.
- Preparing reports to inform decision-making, using statistics and data related to the library’s initiatives and activities.
- Engaging in scholarly activities and providing service to the university, the community, and the profession.
