The Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health (MEZCOPH) at the University of Arizona (UArizona) invites applicants for the inaugural position of Associate Dean for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) that aligns with the missions of MEZCOPH and UArizona. This is a senior administrative position. The successful candidate should have qualification commensurate with appointment at the level of Full or Associate Professor and demonstrated experience in university leadership and/or administration MEZCOPH is both accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) and a member of the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH). It is a rapidly growing and dynamic college whose mission is to promote the health and wellness of individuals and communities in the Southwest and globally, with an emphasis on achieving health equity through excellence in education, research, and service. MEZCOPH supports the UArizona’s strategic diversity and inclusion initiatives (https://diversity.arizona.edu) designed to create an inclusive environment for all faculty, staff, and students. The College ranks among the top ASPPH schools with the proportion of Latinx and Native American Students and is a leader in IDEA efforts (https://publichealth.arizona.edu/diversity-and-inclusion). The Associate Dean will be responsible for ensuring that MEZCOPH’s IDEA efforts model social justice innovation, eliminate health disparities, and lead locally, nationally, and globally.

The Associate Dean reports to the Dean of MEZCOPH and is responsible for working collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and the school’s communities of interest to develop and implement the strategic direction of the School’s IDEA activities, including the promotion of a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible environment. As a member of the MEZCOPH leadership team, the Associate Dean for IDEA will serve as a liaison to the UArizona Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Health Sciences Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and will represent MEZCOPH at community and professional meetings in Arizona, nationally, and internationally. The Associate Dean will advance the culture of inclusion, diversity, equity, and access to reinforce our long-term goals in all aspects of education, research and service as it relates to students, staff, and faculty.
