The College of Business and Public Management is composed of four schools – Criminal Justice and Public Administration; Accounting and Finance; Management and Marketing; and Global Business. The College also hosts a New Jersey Small Business Development Center.

Dean

Reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean is the senior academic and administrative leader of the College of Business and Public Management and will provide leadership in the areas of research, teaching and University and community service. The Dean will also assume a leadership role in external fundraising; work closely with faculty in curricular matters, including the ongoing development of dynamic academic programs; and accelerate the development of the College as a distinctive and regional center for education, research and community service within the business-related fields.

Qualifications: A terminal degree or combination of experience in an academic or professional field related to the disciplines within the college; a record of distinguished academic or professional achievement; and a minimum of five years of progressive experience in management or a higher education environment is required. Experience in related management fields, research organizations or not-for-profit entities is also acceptable. Other qualifications include a demonstrated commitment to the business disciplines; ability to lead through collaborative and shared decision making; the ability to sustain a strong and collegial relationship with faculty, staff, students and administrators; a successful record in budget development and strategic planning; ability to effectively balance advocacy for the College with the needs of the wider University community; an understanding of the role of information technology; the ability to work with a culturally diverse population; and a demonstrated ability to interact with the broader business, education and research and development communities.

Associate Dean

Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean will play a key role in realizing the academic mission of the college. Specific responsibilities include the development and implementation of strategies, procedures and metrics for the recruitment, advisement and enrollment of students in the College; working on accreditation and outcomes assessment activities for all business programs; working with the Dean, Assistant Dean and the departments/schools on special programs and in managing course offerings; and other duties as assigned. It will be particularly important for the associate dean to foster strong partnerships with the global business community.

Qualifications: A terminal degree or combination of experience in an academic or professional field related to the disciplines within the college and a minimum of four years of progressive experience in a higher education environment combining academic instruction and administration or the equivalent as determined by the university. The ideal candidate will have professional work experience outside of the USA; demonstrated leadership skills; the ability to create and manage external partnerships; professional staff supervision experience; budget management experience; the ability to work with a culturally diverse population; strong customer service orientation; the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; and strong written and verbal communication skills.
