Job Description

As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks a Manager of Content Development to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by reporting to the Director of Creative Services, this position will collaborate with Office of Undergraduate admissions, deans, program directors, and other department leaders across the university to develop a content and communication strategy in support of the university’s mission and goals. Primarily responsible for elevating brand awareness through the development of engaging content.

In this position, we are looking for candidates who can think creatively and analytically. Duties include producing and publishing content, writing, proofreading, formulating content strategies, and working closely with vendors to produce marketing assets. Content managers must be comfortable finding creative ways of developing content for various mediums, including website, print, email, and social media, as well as using analytics in the formulation of a content strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
  • Prepare comprehensive content strategies in alignment with the university’s goals.
  • Create email series, landing pages, graphics, data visualization, and other deliverables in support of the division of Enrollment, Marketing, and Communication strategic priorities, with a focus on supporting the undergraduate enrollment strategy.
  • Create compelling messages campaigns and steward the campaign process with all key stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistent tone and brand across all content and target audience, while continuously analyzing content performance to enhance the impact of messaging.
  • Plan, create and oversee the content production of all undergraduate marketing materials.
  • Identify and manage vendors; graphic designers, videographer, and print vendors.
  • Writing, editing and proofreading content in alignment with the university’s identity and style guide.
  • Formulate a cross-platform content strategy including direct mail, social media, email campaigns, and print materials.
  • Brainstorm and collaborate with Office of Undergraduate Admissions team for innovative ideas and content strategies.
  • Exploring the use of AI to streamline content creation processes and free up time for higher-level thinking.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or related field.
  • Five or more years of marketing experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly computer literate.
  • Proficiency with popular content management systems.
  • Creativity with the ability to develop original content.
  • Ability to develop content that provoke engagement.
