What You'll Do
The Assistant Dean for Student Affairs reports to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and supports the DVM student experience at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, working directly with students, staff, and faculty.
Essential Functions: Student experience: Responsible for overall management of the DVM student experience after students are admitted to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program. This includes coordinating student organizations including clubs and class councils, communication with students, and managing relationships between students/student groups and outside companies’ representatives. Oversees Big Sib and student advising programs, and general support services. Supports student events, including the Tufts Veterinary Orientation Program, Transition to Clinics, Dean’s Award Dinner, and White Coat Ceremony, in collaboration with other relevant faculty and staff. Works collaboratively with the graduate programs to engage their students in shared programming.
What We're Looking For
Minimum Required Experience, Education, Background, And Certifications/Licenses
Knowledge and skills as typically acquired through completion of Bachelor's Degree
Minimum five years working with students
Excellent communication skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
Additional Preferred Experience, Education, etc.
Related experience in a university preferred.
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
