The UNT Program Director in Japan position is a full-time appointment that requires a minimum workweek of forty (40) hours per week to include, but not limited to the following duties:
a. Supervising the implementation of the KGU-UNT Program in the College of International Professional Development (CIPD)
b. Training, supporting, and supervising ESL instructors assigned to the KGU-UNT Program
c. Determining the teaching assignments each semester
d. Conducting evaluations for all ESL instructors assigned to the KGU-UNT Program
e. Developing, revising, implementing and evaluating the curriculum and conducting regular student assessments for the CIPD program courses
f. Teaching classes. Number of classes to be determined by Assistant Dean and Director
g. Assisting the Assistant Dean and Director with monitoring the results of the KGU-UNT Program, including, but not limited to, preparing an annual report for KGU on the results of the program in the College of International Professional Development
h. Leading faculty meetings and curriculum meetings as needed f
i. Organizing professional development activities for faculty
j. Advising students and offering student support services
k. Maintaining records of curriculum, enrollment, and program results
l. Supervising the organization and implementation of extracurricular activities for IELI students at KGU
m. Administrative work before, during and at the end of the semester including, but not limited to the following: place textbook orders, conduct orientation sessions for new students, administer and grade placement tests, place students into sections, keep records according to KGU and IELI policies, produce and distribute mid-term and final grade reports, and other required paperwork and duties
n. Attendance at the opening ceremony in April and departure ceremonies in July and December. Participation in KGU activities such as Open Campus (typically 3 per semester) and study abroad placement tests (typically 1 per semester). Participation in IELI evening, weekend, or lunch time program activities. Participation in KGU holiday parties is expected
o. Participation in meetings scheduled by KGU

Other requirements of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
a. Willingness and ability to work cooperatively and well with other instructors and administrators for the benefit of IELI
b. Willingness and ability to teach a variety of classes as assigned
c. Available for consultation with UNT International Affairs’ administrators during the period of mid-January to mid-March
d. Collaborate with UNT and KGU staff, as needed, and act as a liaison between UNT and KGU administrations
e. Represent UNT International Affairs at some recruitment activities in Japan
f. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean and Director of IELI
