Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is now hiring an Assistant Director of Sports Marketing in the Intercollegiate Athletics department at the Daytona Beach campus. The Assistant Director of Sports Marketing assists the Director of Sports Marketing and Promotions with management and coordination of sports marketing and promotional efforts for all 20 intercollegiate sports.
In conjunction with the Director of Athletics and the Director of Sports Marketing and Promotions, this position will assist with:
Increasing attendance at all contests, with specific focus on student attendance
Coordinating the game day experience, including pre-game and in-game promotions
Selling single-game and season tickets for all ticketed sports
Communication with internal and external groups related to marketing of intercollegiate athletic events
Exploring new avenues to engage the local community with the Athletic Department
Sales, sponsorships and administration of the Blue & Gold Gala
Selling advertisements and sponsorships for the Athletic Department
This position also serves as the primary contact for "The Flock" – ERAU’s student spirit organization – and will work in conjunction with the leadership of this organization to coordinate membership services, including sign-up and communication with members, distribution of t-shirts, in-game promotions, etc.
The Assistant Director of Sports Marketing will actively support and promote the NCAA’s Life in the Balance strategic positioning platform, embracing the six ideals of learning, balance, resourcefulness, sportsmanship, passion and service. Violation of NCAA and Sunshine State Conference rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Minimum of 3-5 years of work related experience
Strong interpersonal, customer service, and verbal/written communication skills; including the ability to speak before groups
Must have friendly, professional, and positive attitude
Outstanding ability to listen well and work in a team environment with diverse individuals
Must be creative, extremely detail oriented, and meticulous
Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively meet established deadlines in a timely manner
Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting athletics marketing, promotions and communications processes
Strong familiarity with social media platforms for business/marketing purposes
Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule; including night and weekend work as it relates to athletic events
Computer proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
Experience in sports marketing
