Director for Accreditation, Program Assessment and Research

As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks a qualified applicants for the position of Director for Accreditation, Program Assessment, and Research for the Leighton School of Nursing to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity. The director will be responsible to provide leadership in all three areas of accreditation, program assessment, and research. In collaboration with LSON and MU leadership, the director will collect and analyze data based on the school’s assessment plan. The director will prepare reports for accreditation and state board approvals for all locations in and out of state. The director will also oversee and assist faculty with quality and rigor of research and related project based courses for undergraduate and graduate programs. This person is responsible for updating policies regarding the DNP project, oversee IRB applications from the LSON, and professional development opportunities for faculty who wish to engage in research.

This position is a 12-month faculty position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Actively engages the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan Intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
    • Prepares and report data for systems used in the University and Leighton School of Nursing.
    • Communicate and support the assessment schedule for school wide assessment plan
    • Prepares and manage University, accreditation and State Board reports for all locations (multiple states with multiple sets of standards)
    • Track data for Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and nursing accreditation bodies (multiple states with multiple sets of standards)


‚óŹ Manage and monitor the collection of student and faculty surveys
  • Oversee and act as coordinator for all curriculum for LSON research related courses (NSG 343, 504, 701, 706, 707, & 708). 
  • Teaches the DNP project series courses – NSG 706, 707, & 708.
  • Collaborates with the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs regarding graduate and undergraduate research policies and issues, maintains DNP Project Handbook.
  • Provides faculty development as needed for DNP Project and research related topics.
  • Collaborates with the Assistant Provost of Research & Scholarship, the LSON Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, LSON Associate Dean of Strategic & Innovative Partnerships and Collaborations, as well as other LSON, MU, and community stakeholders in the development of undergraduate, graduate, and faculty research opportunities.
  • Collaborates with other University departments to apply for outside funding opportunities.
  • Serves on LSON Faculty council committees as appropriate.
  • Serves as LSON representative on MU IRB and other university committees as appropriate.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Assures the acquisition of library and other educational resources needed for the effective implementation and writing of all LSON research & DNP projects.
  • Implement new and align current best practices, processes and procedures across academic programs.
  • Maintain updated CITI certification.
  • Maintain active membership in the Midwest Nursing Research Society (MNRS) (optional).
  • Keep abreast of changes in technology and seek professional development as needed.
  • Attend events for the promotion of the BSN-DNP & BSN research.
  • Other duties may be assigned
