University of Buraimi (UoB) – Oman, is a young dynamic and emerging institution dedicated to developing student skills and career development through global educational system. In building this dynamic university, the University invites suitably qualified candidates (priority for Omani) to apply for the following:

Position: Quality and Accreditation Director

The Director of Quality and Accreditation shall undertake the following:

  • Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that the University meets the Institutional as well as the program accreditation requirements of Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA)
  • Ensure that the academic/administrative departments are guided by the vision and mission of University and that departmental goals are directed towards achieving Institutional goals
  • Be responsible to satisfy quality and accreditation criteria of the University as well as OAAA, MoHE, Government Agencies, Partner Institutions and International Accreditation Bodies to whom the University may wish to get membership, achieve research specialized accreditation and obtain professional accreditation/certification
  • Be responsible for quality and accreditation related external correspondence, evaluation and eligibility of documents to be submitted, timely preparation and completion of different reports, documents, analysis, and surveys etc
  • Be responsible to keep and update the records of all accreditation related reports and documents of all the departments and copies to be kept at the records office
  • Be responsible to assist and manage the quality and accreditation related external visits to the University
  • Work closely with other Academic and Administrative Departments and is responsible to provide training and guidance to ensure that new policies, procedures, report, analysis, surveys, and programs developed by the university by any department fulfill accreditation requirements
  • To oversee all the related matters of his/her department operationally and strategically such as employment affairs, departmental budget estimate, human resource requirement, equipment /resource requirement
  • Prepare annual report on progress of the activities of the department and submit it to the Vice chancellor
  • To produce and follow up various instruction material to serve the development plans of the department
  • Any other assigned duties

*General Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or a Master degree preferable in Quality Management, Educational Leadership, business Administration or related discipline
  • The ability to speak and write fluently in English and Arabic would be an advantage
  • Ten-year professional experiences in a similar role within higher education
  • A high level of understanding of accreditation principles and practical application in a similar environment
  • A broad knowledge of issuing relating to the international affairs and performance of higher education institutions and international qualifications frameworks
  • Experience and effective team player with all stakeholders
  • Ability to take initiative for planning and supervising projects and work independently, manage multiple task concurrently, apply continuous improvement principles, and meet deadlines without compromising quality of work.
  • Excellent leadership, oral interpersonal communication, team building and resource development skills
  • Ability to be an excellent facilitator in leading critical analysis of current processes and producers and recommend new one if applicable
  • Demonstrate the use of problem solving techniques, and exceptional analytical
  • Excellent supervisory and management skills
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed and attentive to detail
  • Ability to present ideas and concepts in business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Ability to travel as part of the university delegation if needed
  • Experience in education, policy or business sector and related knowledge of culture and practice
  • Sensitive to GCC culture
  • Experience writing and presenting reports, briefing materials and presentations for range of audiences including senior management.
