What You'll Do
Tufts has committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. The Director of Strategic Capital Programs is responsible for managing projects related to decarbonizing the buildings on the Tufts campuses, as well as converting the existing utilities to fossil fuel free infrastructure. Projects related to lowering the greenhouse gas emissions from buildings and utilities require a focused project manager. The projects are currently on the Medford/Somerville and Grafton campuses and will include the Boston campus in the future.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree or similar in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field and 10 years of experience in related field in a large institutional setting representing the owner.
- Manage multiple consultants working on multiple projects and at different stages in the process.
- Manage, document and report on issues related to schedule, budget, coordination issues and report as required to director and leadership.
- Experience should include managing multiple projects of different sizes simultaneously and in different stages of design, construction and turnover.
- Skills should include working in a fast paced environment, searching for creative solutions, communicating with multiple stakeholders and ability to request assistance when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or energy project management.
- Preferred certifications include Certified Energy Manager, LEED Accreditation or similar.
Special Work Schedule Requirements:
This job involves responsibilities that are performed in a hybrid working environment. Must be able to work occasional weekends and nights and travel between campuses.
