Position Summary
Campus Living invites applications for the Associate Director for Capital Projects position. In this role, you will oversee large scale work that needs to be done on an ongoing basis for all Campus Living properties. You will be responsible for facilitating the definition of programmatic initiatives to be carried out in conjunction with deferred maintenance for a maximum efficiency of funds.

Your responsibilities include:
Oversee a variety of in-house rehabilitation, repair and major maintenance projects relating to the preparation of technical specifications, drawings, cost estimates, procurement, construction, and project close out.
Hiring, role assignment and development of Project Manager(s).
Provide leadership and direction based on industry standards to meet goals and objectives of Campus Living as it relates to the life cycle and replacement of furniture, fixtures and equipment.
Analyze facility condition assessment data and formulate recommendations for ongoing development of long range capital planning for Campus Living facilities.
Serve as project manager for large scale construction projects
Serve as contact for stakeholder requests to define project requirements, preliminary cost estimates; assist in scheduling actual work and service interruptions.
Serve as subject matter expert regarding interior design, interpretation of building codes and accessibility requirements.
Participate in University master plan process.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or closely related field is required.
A minimum of three years of experience in Construction Management or Construction/ Architectural/MEP Project Administration and progressive experience in providing written reviews of technical specifications and construction drawings in preparation for bidding a construction project is required.
Experience in reviewing contract budgets, change orders, project schedules, payment applications, materials testing, and all aspects of architectural, structural, mechanical, and MEP submittals.
Customer service experience and the ability to handle logistical issues due to construction related problems.

Preferred Qualifications
Five years of progressive experience in Construction Management or Construction/Architectural/MEP is preferred.
Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is preferred.
A New York Professional registration in Engineering or Architecture and AutoCAD/Revit experience is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to write and manage project schedules and budgets from inception to completion preferred.
Supervisory experience preferred
Experience in higher education renovation and construction projects of similar size
