*Primary Duties and Responsibilities**



*
*Communications: **Lead internal communications efforts to drive graduate student applications and enrollments and work with marketing and communications staff to define and persuasively communicate the benefit of pursuing graduate education at Stevens. This will include communicating with prospective students at every stage of the admissions funnel from recruitment to enrollment; utilizing available data to assess the effectiveness of communication efforts; and conducting communication audits to ensure data integrity.

*Recruitment: **Work closely with the Director and Associate Director to develop and execute on a comprehensive graduate student recruitment strategy. This will include identifying opportunities for student outreach; ensuring appropriate print and digital recruitment materials are available; attending external events; and hosting online and on-campus events. The Assistant Director will manage recruitment data, prepare recruitment-related reports, and regularly evaluate and improve recruitment efforts.

Application Review and Decision Release: *Manage the operational elements of the application review process. This will include working collaboratively with faculty and academic leaders across the university to ensure that applications route properly and are reviewed in a timely manner; ensuring faculty reviewers have the information needed to make admissions decisions. Manage all aspects of the decision-release process.

Yielding: *Work closely with colleagues in Graduate Admissions, the Office of Graduate Education, and academic units to lead graduate student yielding efforts. This will include providing students with clear and concise information about tuition costs,  financial aid, international student and scholar services, course offerings and more via phone, email, webinars, and in person.

Events: *Plan, prepare for, and execute a variety of Graduate Admissions events, including presentations, information sessions, Open Houses, and Accepted Student events, and off-campus events.

Systems & Data: *Work with relevant colleagues to ensure that degree and certificate programs are accurately reflected in our CRM system (Slate). Ensure the integrity of admissions data. Utilize data to promote recruitment, admissions, and enrollment goals.

Professional Development: *Stays up to date on best practices and issues relating to graduate admissions; Seeks out and consults online and print resources; Develops and maintains a professional network of colleagues in other graduate admissions offices; Attends meetings, conferences, and workshops.

*Qualifications**

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience working in admissions at a university.  
  • Able and willing to work evenings and weekends and to travel, including overnight travel and driving a car.  
  • Superior organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects and manage multiple deadlines. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.  
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with faculty and staff colleagues.  
  • Ability to connect quickly and meaningfully with prospective students. 
  • Experience using Slate CRM is preferred.
