Description
As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks an Associate Director of Admission to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by being a strategic, high-performing manager that recruits and counsels’ prospective students and families through the enrollment process and provides oversight of admission team members. The Senior Associate Director of Admission must have at least four years of management experience and four years of experience in college admissions or education/higher education and catholic school recruitment. The Senior Associate Director of Admission is expected to have demonstrated experience in performance/personnel management, project management, communication, strategy and/or business management. The Senior Associate Director of Admission works closely with the Director of Undergraduate Admission to determine and execute all strategies associated with undergraduate admission at Marian University.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
  • Supervise and responsible for at least two team members on the undergraduate admission team including consistent performance management, guidance, and feedback systems on all aspects of admission practice and responsibilities.
  • Provide active leadership and oversight for the entire undergraduate admission team across all campus locations, alongside the Director of Admissions and in their absence.
  • Exercise leadership and/oversight in multiple areas of project management within the department and co-curricular departments, as determined by the Director of Undergraduate Admissions.
  • Lead agent and strategist for entire recruitment strategy for undergraduate admission, in addition to an individually assigned territory recruitment.
  • Determine/execute strategic funnel targets for respective recruitment territory.
  • Oversee recruitment and enrollment for all Catholic schools across Indiana and work with national recruitment team to ensure synergy with Catholic school strategy across the country.
  • Travel to represent Marian University to high schools, college fairs, businesses, community organizations, libraries, et al, and professionally representing Marian University at different college fairs and networking events
  • Presenting to small and large groups on behalf of Marian University and facilitating campus tours and interviews with prospective students when needed.
  • Advising students, families and community members on the admission/financial aid process, academic and campus information, career outcomes at Marian University
  • Relationship building with prospective students, families, and high school partners through regular communication and awareness of diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive communication plan and updating student recruitment and admissions data as needed within the student information system
  • Review of admission applications and determine admission decisions based on standard criteria
  • Assisting with the planning and execution of recruiting initiatives, orientation and other events for newly recruited students and guiding them through the various processes involved
  • Flexibility and expectation to work some evenings and weekends

Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of four years' experience in management/demonstrated management of personnel.
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in college admission counseling or education/higher education.
  • Proficient knowledge of enrollment management practice and strategy.
  • Proficient knowledge of offerings and commitment to the mission of Marian University
  • Proficient customer service, presentation, verbal/written communication, time management, and organization skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and basic computer technologies
  • The ability to interact effectively with students, parents, faculty, staff, and external constituents
  • The ability to think critically and solve complex problems
  • A high degree of integrity, professionalism, customer service, and confidentiality
  • Bachelor’s degree; master's degree preferred
  • A valid driver's license without restriction
  • Flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours
