The Academic Resources Department at the University of North Texas supports the operations of the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs by providing administrative services relating to academic and salaried graduate student compensation, position management, faculty recruitment and on-boarding, faculty credentialing, and faculty records management.
We strive to provide creative solutions and efficient problem solving for faculty and staff while maintaining compliance with all University, State, and Federal guidelines.
This position will assist in implementation and monitoring of university faculty and salaried graduate student human resources programs and academic budget administration, working closely with campus academic offices to provide consultation and ensure compliance regarding academic human resources and fiscal policies and procedures.
Additional Posting Details
Bachelor’s Degree in human resources management, business administration or related field and five years of human resources experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management; of human resources programs such as employment, compensation, classification, employee relations, benefits, workers’ compensation, or organizational development; and of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing personnel activities.
Ability to explain policies and procedures to faculty, staff and the public; to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Skill in using HRIS/ERP systems and other office computer information systems to organize, store, manipulate and retrieve data.
In-depth knowledge of MS Office suite
Effective communications skills both orally and in writing.
Critical thinking skills.
Ability to plan, organize and effectively manage multiple assignments.
Ability to coach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to junior team members.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequently changing priorities.
Focused on providing a high level of customer service and follow-through.
Previous or current experience in higher education.
PHR or SHRM certification
