Office of Campus Planning

Managing Assistant Director 2

Under the supervision of the Director of Campus Planning, the Managing Assistant Director is responsible for assisting with the management of campus planning operations and projects and supports daily operations in the Office of Campus Planning.  In addition, the employee will support the Director with the development, design, planning and execution of projects. This position works closely with the Kean community and all levels of state officials, government and groups. This position requires some travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree; two years of professional experience in building and property management and operations or project management in a construction or design setting; and a driver’s license valid in the State of New Jersey is required. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the field of Architecture and three years of experience in construction, design and project document control is preferred. Experience in the design of large and small capital projects in higher education is also preferred. Candidate must be proficient in the software common to this position, including architectural design software and Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn and understand new software programs sufficiently to perform duties; have the ability to read, analyze, draw and critique plans and design proposals; and have the ability to review and enforce project specifications. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.  Essential job functions include driving and physical activity, including walking long distances, standing, bending and/or lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
