The position facilitates and executes all aspects of a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant sponsored by the Alabama Department of Commerce that will lead to grant renewal for 3 consecutive years. This includes writing the grant renewal, seeking new WIOA grant funds, recruiting schools and students to participate from different school districts, evaluation and supervision of all related AU employees/consultants, program management and project management in accordance with Alabama Department of Commerce policy. This job will require daily/weekly/monthly in-person interactions with superintendents, school principals, teachers, parents, students and community agents.
Creates and leads administrative coalition which includes K-12 administrators from participating schools, Alabama Career Center leaders, Auburn University (AU) administration and AU faculty and consultants participating in grant.
Interacts with Alabama Career Center leaders to guide individual registration of students gaining eligibility for the WIOA program.
Establishes student activities in accordance with grant requirements and manages master schedule activities with K-12 school districts and school sites with agreement of school administrators.
Negotiates with potential and existing AU consultants to arrange services for WIOA student activities and curriculum in accordance with AU policy and requirements.
Arranges locations for classes, seminars, field trips and coordinates transportation for WIOA activities.
Assesses and evaluates projects and programs to make necessary changes to carry out grant program to completion.
Oversees all day-to-day operations established by AU through WIOA grant.
Supervises Graduate Assistant who will be fulfilling all case-management responsibilities.
Assures all grant responsibilities are fulfilled and grant outcomes are on target to meet all deadlines and requirements for the WIOA grant as put forth by the Alabama State Department of Commerce including records, documents, forms, agendas, schedules, monetary records and proof of outcomes that are communicated in writing and reported to the appropriate authorities as required by both the grant and the university.
