The University at Buffalo (UB) invites inquiries, nominations and applications for the position of Director, Office of Academic Integrity. The incumbent will be a member of the Office of Educational Affairs and will report directly to the Vice Provost for Educational Affairs. The Director, Office of Academic Integrity will work closely with the Office of Student Conduct and Advocacy and academic units to advance the university’s commitment to academic integrity.
The UB Director, Office of Academic Integrity will provide University leadership and expertise in developing and promoting UB’s fundamental value of integrity in the academic enterprise. The incumbent will implement a new policy which centralizes the adjudication of academic integrity cases that are not resolved at the instructor level. This office and this position will develop policies and procedures to ensure that issues of academic integrity are handled in a consistent manner across the University. Chief responsibilities include:
- Implement and maintain university academic integrity policies
- Initiate and support academic integrity educational programing across the campus
- Develop tools to facilitate all aspects of UB’s academic integrity policies, including developing a campus remediation program
- Serve as a coordinator and deliberative authority in matters referred to the Academic Integrity Office
- Lead the adjudication of academic integrity cases in consultation with faculty, staff and senior leadership
UB enrolls nearly 30,000 students (almost 20,000 undergraduates and 10,000 graduate and professional students) in more than 100 undergraduate degree programs, 250 master’s degree programs, 84 doctoral degree programs, and 10 professional degree programs.

Master’s degree and 3 years of experience in the area of higher education or related field.
PhD or JD with 5 years of experience in the area of higher education preferred. Highly competitive candidates will have classroom instructional experience with either or both undergraduate and graduate populations and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff and academic leadership. Previous experience with academic integrity cases is preferred. Strong oral & written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills & professional maturity, analytical & critical thinking; management and organizational skills strongly preferred. Previous hands-on experience working with databases and student information systems is strongly preferred.
