Overview
Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for the recruitment, selection, and enrollment of the first-year and transfer class each year for the School of Arts & Sciences, School of Engineering, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts. Admissions is charged with meeting various enrollment goals across schools and programs.
What You'll Do
This is a hybrid position: this person will work from campus, from home, and from various locations while traveling on behalf of the University. Interested candidates must submit a resume and cover letter.
Reporting to a Director or Dean, each Associate Director contributes to the university’s efforts to recruit and enroll a compositionally diverse entering class. Each associate director develops and conducts in-person recruitment and informational events on and off campus, as well as virtually; evaluates first-year and transfer applications as a member of a committee and assists in the training of new readers; and manages outreach to schools and college access organizations in an assigned geographic region of the US or the world. Each associate director also manages and leads a portfolio-based team, consisting of one or more admissions officers, and is responsible for initiating projects and goal setting within that portfolio team or across the office. Portfolio teams manage projects related to diversity & access, communications, admissions software and data, US and international travel and recruitment, campus visit programming and events, and selection. Engaging and effective public speaking, strong written communication skills, strong management and supervisory skills, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion are essential. This position requires periodic travel to US or international destinations.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Knowledge and skills as typically acquired by a Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of relevant professional experience in admissions, college counseling, or related field
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Public speaking and presentation Skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Valid US driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Supervisory Experience
- Experience with CRM software, such as Slate
- Experience with Google Software Suite
- Knowledge of US and/or international educational
