Position Summary:

Reporting to the Vice Provost for Strategic Enrollment Management, the Executive Director of for International Programs office is responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the development of international programs for students, faculty, and staff and for directing the units within the International Programs Office (IPO), which include: International Student, Scholar and Faculty Services; the American Language and Culture Program; International Grants, Contracts, and Initiatives; Study Abroad (includes connection to 500 universities around the world, International Exchanges Programs, the National Student Exchange Program); and Administrative Support. The Executive Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership for international programs and for developing an international strategic plan that is consistent with the university's mission and vision. This position spearheads international initiatives; designs and implements institutional policies and procedures in the area of international education; works collaboratively with international student recruitment to achieve the university international enrollment goals; ensures fiduciary stewardship and oversight of IPO budgets; manages department staff; develops and provides oversight of internal and external relationships through integration and collaboration with partners and constituents; ensures quality customer service for faculty, staff, students, and external clients; provides ongoing assessment to ensure that university international goals are achieved; ensures smooth immigration transition processes for faculty, staff, and students; and promotes intercultural awareness/global competencies for members of the university community.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master Degree
A minimum of 7 years professional experience in international affairs, international advising, international programs or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Evidence of success in building strong study abroad enrollments
Evidence of prior leadership that leads to strong international programs at a college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctorate degree or other terminal degree
Administrative experience in international education at a higher education institution
Evidence of the ability to lead others through strategic planning, program development, and program assessment and manage personnel, budget, and unit operations
