Position: Full-time, 12-month position as Director of the Joseph S. Bruno Auburn Abroad in Italy program (non-tenure track faculty) located on our Ariccia, Italy campus, anticipated to begin on August 16, 2022.
The Program: The Joseph S. Bruno Auburn Abroad in Italy program is offered to Auburn students during Fall, Spring, and Summer terms and includes a 2 credit pre-departure course and a 12 week/14 credit hour experience in Ariccia, Italy, located 20 miles from Rome. During their time in Ariccia, students participate in a variety of lectures by prominent Italian subject matter experts and field trips to supplement the lectures. Approximately 21 students participate in the program each term and can earn an International Minor in Human Sciences. Additional information about the program can be found at:

Responsibilities: The person in this position reports directly to the Director of Global Education, College of Human Sciences and provides overall leadership for and development of the academic program in Italy and oversight of all curricula and program content; teaches a pre-departure orientation class; works cooperatively with Italian staff to ensure that all curricula and program content is delivered seamlessly; serves as the primary public relations “face” of the program; provides overall administration of student housing; assists with student recruitment; facilitates and evaluates students’ daily learning experiences in Italy; works cooperatively with the Auburn home campus; maintains the program website and blog; develops, maintains, and administers program assessments; serves as the College’s Italy Association of American College and University Programs in Italy (ACCUPI) representative; prepares and revises program public relations materials; serves as student/faculty contact for academic and student discipline issues that are not readily resolved on-site in Italy; ensures student grade reporting is handled in a timely manner; determines the term calendar; interviews prospective students and graduate student assistant applicants as needed; supervises the Auburn Abroad in Italy graduate assistant; coordinates with the Office of Global Education’s team regarding billing, vendor payments, and other programmatic needs; coordinates and oversees facility repairs and maintenance with Italian staff.
