The College of Education at Northern Illinois University seeks a caring, compassionate, and collaborative individual to provide leadership, coordination, and oversight for academic diversity, equity, and inclusion across the College of Education. This work will include implementing an antiracist, equity, and social justice agenda in the college, planning and facilitating professional development, and collaborating with K-12 partner schools and community partners.
The Director will be a visionary leader and collaborator who can help foster a climate in the College of Education that honors the dignity of each person, promotes the development of respect, and nurtures a sense of belonging for college community. The Director will report to the Dean and represent the Dean at various committees both within the College and at the University, when applicable. The director plays an essential role in embodying and modeling the college’s values and championing the importance of an inclusive, respectful, collaborative environment. The director will lead with enthusiasm and empathy to not only embrace diversity, but also create a climate of inclusivity that fosters belonging for students, faculty, and staff.
