Under the direction of the Vice President for Enrollment Services, the University Registrar (Director II) provides a combination of administrative and process management to direct operations within the Office of the Registrar. The University Registrar will lead new student-focused initiatives and programs; leads and directs the work operations of the scheduling unit, curriculum and catalog, degree audit, records unit and the University’s One Stop and Call Center; and performs related work as required. This position proactively manages the effective application of technology and the development, enhancement and maintenance of the student record, degree pathways and evaluation system within an integrated Colleague database.
The University Registrar is a key member of the enrollment services team who works in collaboration with other managers within the division to provide essential student registration and support services. This position requires travel to Kean Ocean in Toms River, New Jersey, Kean Skylands in Jefferson Township, New Jersey and other locations. Occasional travel to Wenzhou-Kean University in Wenzhou, China is also required on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college; four years of progressive leadership and management experience in higher education; and a driver’s license valid in the State of New Jersey is required. Master’s degree in Student Services, Educational Administration or a related field; administrative/supervisory experience in a university Registrar’s Office; and knowledge of Ellucian and Colleague/Datatel software, related modules and retrieval is preferred. Candidate must have knowledge of computer databases, information systems and new technologies, including web-based services and social media.
