Position Summary
Bryant University seeks a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as its Vice President for Student Affairs. The University, located in Smithfield, RI, (outside of Providence), is a 85% residential campus on over 435 acres. Principal Accountabilities
The vice president provides leadership and direction to the offices of Student Engagement, Student Leadership & Involvement, Student Events & Orientation Programs, Public Safety, Diversity & Inclusion, Residence Life, Health Services, Counseling Services, and Career Services.

The successful candidate will bring outstanding vision, energy, managerial and entrepreneurial talent, and an enthusiasm for involvement in an active and vibrant residential campus life. This means that the successful candidate will be expected to live on campus in University provided housing to facilitate their active involvement in student life.

The Vice President reports to President Ron Machtley and serves as a senior leader of the University, involved in strategic planning and policy development and implementation across the University. Working in close collaboration with colleagues in academic affairs, the vice president is responsible for developing learning opportunities that bridge academic and student affairs programs and for ongoing assessment of the effectiveness of those programs. The vice president works closely with the Provost, the deans and the faculty to ensure student success, persistence to graduation, character and leadership development, career preparation, and the development of global and diverse perspectives.

The vice president will engage directly with students on a variety of issues and will be integrally involved in the development of the University’s next strategic plan.

The successful candidate should have a terminal degree and 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience; the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively; with strong administrative, financial management, and problem solving skills.
