Reports to: Vice President for Academic Affairs

Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the incumbent is responsible for the coordination and supervision of the day-to-day operational activities for testing services. In close collaboration with Enrollment and Academic Affairs, the coordinator will be responsible for new student assessment and placement tests, make-up exam service, and various other exams or testing services as needed.

Duties:
1. Serve as member of the Academic Affairs division, participating in discussions, decision-making, and policy recommendations
2. Under the guidance of the Vice President, develop and oversee testing budget ensuring adequate testing materials and supplies to meet demand
3. Work closely with VPESL, Director of Enrollment and the Director of the English Foundation Program or EFP@AIU to develop and administer all admissions related testing and all academic assessment testing for The EFP@AIU program
4. Develop and oversee daily, weekly and monthly testing activities; monitor testing center usage and needs; record number of test takers and types of exams given in the testing center
5. Coordinate and publish testing schedules
6. Advise students about testing options, availability of tests, score requirements, and address problems and resolutions regarding testing
7. In collaboration with Academic Affairs, determine and implement best practice strategies for accommodations testing and make-up exams
8. Develop and publish testing strategies and testing integrity; conduct testing workshops in conjunction with Enrollment and Academic Affairs
9. Maintain testing center; report, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with hardware, software and other computer-related issues
10. Handle the ordering and secure storage of testing materials; making sure to maintain adequate supplies of tests at all times ยท
11. Develop and maintain policy and procedure manuals related to testing programs and services
12. Assist in the identification, implementation and evaluation of technology programs intended to enhance the testing department operations
13. Assist with the development, revision, and distribution of marketing, educational, and informational publications and materials related to the Enrollment and Academic Affairs
14. Provide assistance to other student development programs as needed
15. Serve on various committees or task forces as required
16. Keep abreast of developments in higher education fields as related to assigned functions
17. Evening and weekend work as required
18. Other duties as assigned

Skills:
1. Must possess skills to be able to explain and demonstrate the essential functions of the position
2. Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly and effectively at all levels within the University in English; must possess effective presentation skills; Arabic language is a must.
3. Knowledge of University enrollment services policies and procedures, and degree programs offered
4. Demonstrated understanding of the role of testing in the University experience
5. Strong knowledge of testing protocols and integrity
6. Ability to create and implement policies and procedures for a testing center that meets the standards of US testing organizations
7. Demonstrated understanding of University structure, policies and procedures
8. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of standard software applications
9. Demonstrated skills in researching issues and problems using software and the Internet
10. Demonstrable high ethical standards and patience especially as it relates to testing
11. Must be capable of maintaining confidentiality of work related information and materials
12. Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and problem-solve; sound professional judgment; initiative and resourcefulness; industry and dependability
13. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of professionals and community constituents
14. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Experience and Education:
1. Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred
2. At least 3 years of experiences in higher education; preferably in testing services or enrollment management
3. Experience in planning and conducting presentations
