Department Summary
The Academic Resources Department at the University of North Texas supports the operations of the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs by providing administrative services relating to academic and salaried graduate student compensation, position management, faculty recruitment and on-boarding, faculty credentialing, and faculty records management.
We strive to provide creative solutions and efficient problem solving for faculty and staff while maintaining compliance with all University, State, and Federal guidelines.

Position Overview
This position is responsible for providing effective leadership in the administration of academic human resources programs and services with emphasis in the areas of recruitment, compensation, training and development and implementation, position control, and information systems with an emphasis on fiscal management.

Additional Posting Details
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resources or related field and six years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience or training.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong attention to detail
Ability to direct technical and administrative functions and activities in the Human Resources field and Faculty Affairs
Strong ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations both verbally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
General knowledge of various employment laws and practices, and applicable rules and guidelines.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of multiple teams.
Ability to complete tasks with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
Ability to work at a computer during work hours
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification
Experience working with PeopleSoft Human Capital Management System
Proficient in applying conflict resolution skills and mediation techniques
Demonstrated experience in faculty affairs
