Campus Registrar for Wenzhou-Kean University
Kean, a comprehensive New Jersey state university, is seeking a Campus Registrar for its additional instructional location in Wenzhou, China. Wenzhou is one of the most vibrant and economically advanced cities on China’s East Coast, located one hour by plane and just over three hours by high-speed train from Shanghai. Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU) sits on approximately 500 beautiful acres, currently enrolls 2,800 undergraduate students and is now in the midst of a growth phase that will bring enrollment to more than 7,000 students within the next six years. WKU is approved by the Ministry of Education of China and is approved as an additional location of Kean University by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
The Campus Registrar will join WKU at an exciting time of expansion as enrollment numbers continue to rise and will make valuable contributions to manage a growing comprehensive student support services effort related to registration and records. The Campus Registrar provides effective management and application of technology of the student record and degree evaluation system within an integrated Colleague database between Kean USA and WKU. The Campus Registrar is responsible for the administration of the Office of the Registrar and actively participates in the development and implementation of office goals, policies, procedures and the delivery of daily services to students, faculty and staff, while maintaining compliance with and adherence to all applicable United States and Chinese laws, rules and regulations, including FERPA guidelines.
The Campus Registrar is based at WKU, and is required to work at the Union Campus when not in China, under the direction of the Kean University Registrar at the Kean USA campus, and in collaboration with the Executive Vice Chancellor of WKU, in China. Travel is required to the Kean USA campus on an as needed basis.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college; three years of progressive professional experience in registrar, financial aid or higher education in the United States; and knowledge of policies and procedures associated with student records is required. Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration or a related discipline and four years of progressive leadership and management experience in an enrollment management area, including experience specific to registration and records management is preferred. Hands-on knowledge of the Ellucian/Datatel/Colleague student information system is also preferred. Candidate must be fluent in English and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
