Primary Purpose of Position
North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University seeks a dynamic, vision filled, relatable leader with proved ability to develop and implement comprehensive strategic plans that advance inclusion and diversity efforts as the Executive Diversity and Inclusion Officer. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Human Resources, the Executive Diversity and Inclusion Officer has the primary responsibility for providing strategic leadership and administrative oversight for researching, developing, implementing, and maintaining a range of successful practices for supporting and prioritizing equity, diversity and inclusiveness. The successful candidate will work with all stakeholders across campus to facilitate intentional efforts toward advancing diversity and inclusion in alignment with the strategic plan. The Executive Diversity and Inclusion Officer will serve as N.C. A&T’s UNC System liaison for diversity and inclusion communications and reporting.The Executive Diversity and Inclusion Officer will provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and engaging campus climate for all. The Executive Diversity and Inclusion Officer is responsible for developing and managing employee inclusion and diversity programs, events, and services designed to build and grow N.C. A&T as an engaging and inclusive campus for students, faculty and staff. The Executive Diversity and Inclusion Officer fosters and inclusive educational experience for all employees through programming, advocacy, and support.

Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree with at least 5 years of experience in human resources, compliance, equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, or related field experience
Demonstrated experience developing and delivering diversity, inclusion, and equity programming
Research or industry expertise in the development, attainment, assessment and reporting of strategic goals focused on diversity, inclusion, and equity.
Excellent interpersonal skills that facilitate coordination and cooperation amongst individuals, offices, and entities
Exceptional communication skills
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Experience implementing diversity programming, especially in historically minority serving institutional environments
Prior involvement with the recruitment and retention of individuals from underrepresented minority (URM) groups
Background in developing relationships and interfacing with state and federal agencies and industry
Five years of experience working in an affirmative action and EEO compliance function, which involves the duties and principal accountabilities, described for the position of Executive of Diversity and Inclusion Officer
Management and supervisory experience is desired
