Position Summary
The UB College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) seeks to hire an experienced and highly responsible professional to serve as the Assistant Director for Experiential Learning and Scholarships. You will be a member of the College of Arts and Sciences Student Advisement and Services office, working with CAS faculty, staff, and students to foster innovative experiential learning opportunities. You will be responsible for expanding experiential learning opportunities for students by engaging faculty, collaborating across key university departments and when needed support faculty in building partnerships with community-based organizations. In addition, you will be responsible for establishing and overseeing scholarship application, award, distribution, tracking procedures and stewardship in order to advance the College’s ambitious vision for innovative experiential learning for all students, regardless of their financial needs. Key Experiential Learning Responsibilities:
- Assess students and faculty Experiential Learning interests including identifying and cultivating relationships with CAS faculty to expand Experiential Learning opportunities for undergraduate students.
- Develop and facilitate workshops on current trends in Experiential Learning pedagogy for faculty; Create and facilitate informational sessions on Experiential Learning for undergraduate students; Collaborate with CAS Advisors and Success Coaches to strategically promote Experiential Learning opportunities to undergraduate students.
- Support faculty in developing and cultivating partnerships with community organizations to develop broader internship possibilities.
- Coordinate the Social Impact Fellows program for the College.
- Serve as the point of contact for students and faculty interested in Experiential Learning; Collaborate with Marketing and Communication Office to publicize CAS student and faculty Experiential Learning experiences.
- Serve as the liaison and develop partnerships with the University at Buffalo Experiential Learning Network Office, Carrier Design Center, Study Abroad Programs, and Blackstone Launch-pad.
- Develop and implement periodic evaluations of CAS Experiential Learning initiatives.
Key Scholarship responsibilities:
- Serve as the point of contact for students and faculty interested in scholarships; Create and facilitate informational sessions on scholarship opportunities for undergraduate students; Collaborate with Marketing and Communication Office to publicize scholarship recipient stories.
- Manage the Scholarship Portal, including establishing and overseeing scholarship application, award, distribution tracking procedures and stewardship.
- Partner with CAS academic departments to aid scholarships distribution to qualifying students; Partner with Advancement Office, Fellowships and Scholarships Office, Financial Aid Office, and Admissions to distribute scholarships to CAS students and to develop new experiential learning opportunities from alumni and alumni-owned companies.
- Analyze scholarship distribution and identify areas where scholarships are needed.
- Coordinate the annual amount of spendable return earmarked for undergraduate admissions offers to increase new student enrollment across CAS.
- Collaborate with CAS Advisors and Success Coaches to strategically promote scholarship opportunities to undergraduate students; Collaborate with CAS Director of Graduate Enrollment to strategically promote scholarship opportunities to graduate students.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with two (2) years of relevant experience. Demonstrated competencies in the following areas:
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills (written, verbal and listening)
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Strong commitment to excellent customer service
- Strong technological competences
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Positive and professional demeanor
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters’ degree from an accredited institution in education, or related field with three (3) years professional experience developing Experiential Learning and/or internship opportunities, curriculum development, teaching and/or career services experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of Experiential Learning pedagogy and trends
- Experience managing budgets or scholarships/grants
- Proven ability to support diverse student populations in higher or secondary education settings
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships, build partnerships, and launch new educational initiatives
- The ability to navigate the complexities of a large research one university system and to translate academic priorities into externally facing experiential opportunities for community partners, alumni and alumni-owned companies
- Excellent project management, and networking skills
