Overview

The Block Career Center provides innovative and comprehensive career development assistance to Masters and PhD students and alumni from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University. Services include individual career coaching, online resources, workshops, career fairs, networking and presentations with alumni and employers, job and internship search assistance, and online job and internship listings.


What You'll Do

The Assistant Director is an experienced career services advisor, and program manager, comfortable leading in a data informed environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong career development background and enjoy leveraging technology, data, and strategic thinking to create a state-of-the-art career center. As a key member of the Block Center Career Services team, the Assistant Director will provide strategic leadership in several areas, including:

  • Advising graduate students in all phases of career development, including identifying career interests/skills/values, career exploration and planning, and job search strategies.
  • Coordinate and develop the career development program schedule outline ahead of the beginning of each semester, working with the team to ensure that it is a mix of ‘nuts and bolt’, industry exploration, employer engagement, and career decision-making activities and utilizing a variety of delivery formats.
  • Design, collection and analysis of key metrics to evaluate utilization, success, and satisfaction of career services; and as well manage the collection and analysis of the post-graduate data and outcomes process.
  • Coordinate the Integration of career outcomes with the Friedman School’s digital and marketing strategies and recruitment.


What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • Knowledge and skills as typically acquired by a Bachelor’s Degree and 5-8 years of directly related professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in higher education, counseling or human resources strongly preferred. 
  • Experience using Tableau, Qualtrics, Excel or other tools to manage, analyze and present data.


Pay Range

Minimum $57,900.00, Midpoint $72,450.00, Maximum $87,000.00
 

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
