Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is currently recruiting for an Associate /Director of Alumni Engagement Programs. Reporting to the Executive Director of Alumni Engagement, the Associate Director/Director of Alumni Engagement Programs shall deliver an array of programs aimed at providing life-long value to alumni and compelling incentives for their sustained, proactive engagement with the University. The Associate Director/Director will collect, analyze, and report engagement data to inform the Office’s overarching goals and strategies and will propose programs and recommend tactics that will enable the Office to achieve those goals. Key responsibilities for the position include: management of mentoring and volunteer programs, event planning, work within content management system, managing web site content, conducting extensive e-mail and social media marketing, data analytics, and strategy development.

The incumbent will support the planning and implementation of alumni programming and special projects, including, but not restricted to, graduation "lift off" events, presidential receptions for alumni, alumni awards activities, homecomings, alumni take-a-call mentoring, Eagle Entrepreneurs programming, Eagle authors programs, and geographical, corporate, affinity-based, and virtual network functions. The Associate Director/Director oversees the Coordinator of Digital Alumni Engagement and monitors and support social and digital communication across the social media platforms used by the Office and through active use of the alumni engagement website via the IModules platform. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional skill in both data analytics and project management, the ability to develop robust, data-driven strategies for alumni engagement, and proven aptitude for guiding strategic communications, with a special emphasis upon digital means of engagement and stewardship. A working knowledge of design will be beneficial.

The Associate Director/Director must be a proactive, tenacious, and energetic self-starter; unfailingly positive, confident, charismatic, and gracious; a careful listener with high emotional intelligence and proficiency in building and growing relationships; professional, poised and polished; discrete with confidential material; and an exceptional communicator and brand ambassador. The Associate Director/Director must possess the ability to work with a sense of urgency and work to reach and exceed their goals, exercising good professional judgment with minimal oversight. Because the Alumni Engagement Office welcomes visitors and communicates with alumni throughout the year, daily responsibilities of the Associate Director/Director are dynamic and entails directly engaging alumni, students, faculty, staff, donors, administrators, community members, and VIPs.

Plan, deliver, assess, and enhance an integrated array of alumni lifecycle and constituent affinity programs aimed at strategically increasing alumni engagement

Strategically plan, track, and simultaneously manage an array of inter-related projects, including:
Direct the planning and execution of the Alumni Awards; Alumni take-a-call mentoring; Eagle Entrepreneurs; Eagle authors; affinity-based alumni programs; and geographic or virtual network activities
Oversee the planning and execution of Talon Talks, Webinars and Alumni Speaker Series Collaborate with Office colleagues as required
Assist in the coordination of Signature programs, including Homecomings at each campus, reunions, and graduation events
Integrate engagement efforts undertaken by Annual Giving field officers and other PAE personnel into the Office’s broader Cycle programming
Data Analytics, Reporting, and Strategy Development

Assume primary responsibility for recording, tracking, analyzing, and reporting upon the Office’s overall performance in the context of the Alumni Engagement Score model. Employ fundraising performance management tools, social media analytical resources, and other strategies and software tool to gather data. Through data analytics, inform the Office’s strategies and deployments of resources and provide recommendations for improvement. Intake and update alumni records resulting from engagement activities, including but not restricted to, philanthropic commitments, career services support, network leadership, speaker series participation, interviewing for inclusion within articles in university publications, etc. Generate regular monthly reports of activity and progress.

Lead Communications for Alumni Engagement
Direct digital communications strategies for alumni engagement and supervise the Digital Engagement Coordinator. Integrate alumni engagement communications with those of philanthropy and the university. Working with the Office’s content management, creation, and posting tools, build emails, update websites, and deploy other digital content. Personally, or through delegation to the Digital Engagement Coordinator, ensure
Received communications receive a prompt, strategic, effective, and courtesy response that advances the alumni engagement score
Alumni digital communities are effectively curated and their participants’ membership managed
Development of demographic segmentation strategies and produce segmented contact lists with tailored content
Direct Office of Alumni Engagement Operations

Under the direction of the Executive Director effectively and efficiently manage the operations of the Office and deliver outstanding client experiences with the unit.
Maintain the Office’s master calendar
Oversee the hiring, training, supervision, deployment, and performance assessment of student employees
Under the oversight of the Executive Director, collaborate with the Division Administrator to manage the Office’s budget and resources
Collaborate with all campus units to identify and track alumni visitors
As needed, coordinate with the Office of the SVP of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement to provide Alumni Cards to visiting alumni
Ensure the Office is appropriately staffed
As needed, lead or arrange campus tours for alumni at the Daytona campus



The candidate must have a minimum of five years of relevant experience, two of which must be in alumni relations at a college or university, an understanding of higher education and its mission, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Incumbent will have significant and relatively independent regional responsibilities in supporting the university mission for advancement, recruiting and campus external events in support of both the university’s alumni relations program and the campus. This position requires an ability to work well under tight deadlines while managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Priorities and assignments may need to be adjusted periodically due to unforeseen projects and events. There may be expected travel and as evening and weekend work is expected. A preference will be provided to candidates who attended and are Alumni of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
