Director, Graduate Tax Program
The Director oversees and directs the running of the Graduate Tax program, which includes the LLM in Tax, MLST, Andersen Tax program, online program, Graduate Tax Certificate, and Advanced Admission for JD students. The Director, in partnership with the Dean and Associate Dean of the School of Law, develops and implements the overall vision and strategy of the Tax program. The Director manages and oversees the work of an Assistant Director, and partners with the Academic Director as they handle key day-to-day functions of the Tax Program. The Director is responsible for growing the Graduate Tax Program at USF and raising the program's profile within the legal and accounting communities in California and nationwide.

Responsible for the growth of the School of Law's Graduate Tax Program, which includes: the LLM in Tax, MLST, Andersen Tax program, online program, Graduate Tax Certificate, and Advanced Admission for JD students
Develops and oversees an overall recruitment and enrollment strategy.
Conducts student recruitment, including developing new candidate pipelines, augmenting existing pipelines.
Develops and oversees a scholarship strategy that attracts new students and meets budgetary goals.
Partners with Communications & Marketing to create and implement marketing strategies.
Oversees the Admissions processes, and manages those with day-to-day responsibility for the process.
Oversees the overall Program Budget and work with the Dean to conduct budget strategy, forecasting, and big picture budget management and resource allocation.
Directly manages Assistant Director and Program Assistant.
Faculty and Curriculum
Collaborate with Academic Director to develop curriculum and course offerings strategy.
Identifies and recruits adjunct faculty with the assistance of Academic Director & Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.
Oversee Assistant Director and Academic Director in the development of class and schedules.
Responsible for high-level development of standards and practices for the Program, and partnering with relevant stakeholders in that development and oversees implementation.
Engages in a strategy of continual improvement to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and program success.
Responsible for the development and expansion of LLM in Tax and MLST programs with Andersen Tax
Maintains a strategic partnership and strong professional relationships with program stakeholders at Andersen Tax to maintain and grow our academic partnership, including regular communication.
Partners with Andersen Tax stakeholders to scope out additional programs for potential development to increase potential pool of Andersen students, and to meet Andersen's LLM/MLST educational needs.
Responsible for developing and overseeing student recruitment strategy and related activities
Works with Dean and Associate Dean to develop strategic recruitments plans, and to identify methods for successful implementation.
Develops recruitment strategy that focuses locally, but also nationally, globally through online access.
Attends and presents at conferences, meetings, school visits, and other outward-facing events as required.
Creates, develops and maintains relationships with employers and prospective employers
Creates, develops, and maintains relationships with accounting firms including the Big 4 firms.
Creates, develops, and maintains relationships with small and boutique law firms and other companies, government agencies, and public interest organizations.
Develops and implements a recruitment strategy aimed at increasing the number and type of institutional partners with the Tax Programs.
Develops and maintains relationships with donors and prospective donors
Partners with Assistant Dean, Development & Alumni Relations to oversee, maintain, and fulfilling E.L. Wiegand Trust terms, requirements, documents, and programs.
Partners with Assistant Dean, Development & Alumni Relations to develop and secure other gifts, grants and endowments.
Conducts community outreach and relationship development
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with outside entities, by actively participating in events, conferences, and meetings with members of tax courts, governmental entities, bar associations, and CalCPA.
Works with Academic Director to oversee the development of all internal events/programs
Encourages diversity in programming and outreach to other LLM in Tax Programs.
Oversees the Academic Director in facilitating outside conferences, guest speakers, and special events for the tax program.
Works to ensure the securing of high-caliber speakers for the Program's lecture series.
- BA degree required, JD strongly preferred. Other advanced degrees considered.
- Five to seven years of administrative experience, preferably in university administration.
- This position requires excellent judgment and respect for confidentiality; solid oral and written communication skills; a gracious, professional and responsive demeanor; and a cooperative spirit.
- Excellent data entry and computer skills in MS Word and Excel is required.
- Marketing to legal communities.
- Ability to work independently.

- Knowledge of the local and national legal field and climate
- While main hours are generally 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, regular, consistent participation in evening and weekend events is required.
- This position requires a great deal of travel, up to 50% of time.
- This position is located at the 101 Howard campus in downtown San Francisco, but is required to travel to the School of Law's main campus occasionally for meetings and events.
