The University at Buffalo (UB) Office of International Student Services (ISS) seeks to hire a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Director of Inclusion and Engagement. This position will develop, organize, and lead outcome-based programs to enhance the transition, inclusion, retention, and well-being of the international student population at the University at Buffalo.
As a highly visible staff member, the Assistant Director will:
Lead ISS program development and event management, conduct outcome assessments, and develop assessment reports for the campus community.
Track trends relating to international student success, and adapt ISS programs and initiatives to meet the needs of changing campus culture, conditions, and goals.
Manage a communication strategy to aid and advocate for the international student experience.
Collaborate with campus and community partners to promote international student inclusion and advocate for specialized international student support.
Serve as the Transition Team leader, responsible for coordinating timelines, managing overall logistics, and providing guidance in support of the ISS orientation and welcome programs.
Serve as the advisor to the International Student Advisory Board.
Develop and support efforts to provide intercultural communication training across campus constituents.

Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple programs and initiatives.
An understanding of student development theory and its application.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work with diverse constituents including students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency is required, as mandated by federal (SEVP) regulations. This position includes occasional non-standard (evening/weekend) work hours.
Demonstrated intercultural communication skills.
Experience in event management, program development, budget planning, and program assessment.
